Van 7 aug tot 13 aug opent de nieuwe sauna club zijn deuren in Brussel! “Common Sweat” is a tijdelijke sauna opgezet door de Nederlandse kunstenaar Steven Jouwersma voor Artlab ZSenne. De sauna is gebouwd uit overschotten meerdere kunstprojecten met bijkomend materiaal van bewoners in de vlakbij ZSenne. De sauna wordt verwarmd met een houtstoof en biedt een avontuurlijke DIY sauna ervaringen gedurende een week, elke dag van 17u tot 21u.
Tijdens deze eerste week zal “common sweat” experimenteren met een sauna ervaring gecombineerd en muziekinstallatie. Elke dag is er een sessie gepland om 19u. schrijf hier in http://doodle.com/poll/pbuwufrezwtkz8gn#table
Na de dagelijkse sessie is de sauna open voor iedereen.
Een slotpresentatie met saunasessies vindt plaats tijdens de finissage op zaterdag 13 aug.
Het is belangrijk om zelf een handdoek en zwemkleding met te brengen vermits we niet zonder kleding kunnen afkoelen of douchen in de publieke ruimte. Er zal natuurlijk een koude douche zijn.
Sauna club "Common sweat" is ontstaan uit frustratie over welness centres met slechte muziek en consumptielogica. Met live ambient muziek in de relaxatieruimte in ZSenne, zal “Common Sweat” functioneren als een retreat voor het lichaam en als een hersenverleidingscentrum, een plaats om tot rust te komen.
Kan je niet komen op deze data? Geen zorg: deze winter zal “Common Sweat” reizende sauna worden, verplaatsbaar naar private zowel als publieke ruimtes. Stuur email naar

From August 7 till August 13, a new sauna club will open its doors in Brussels! “Common Sweat” is a temporary sauna initiated by Dutch artist Steven Jouwersma in front of Artlab ZSenne. The sauna is built out of material left overs from art projects of many people with additional material added by residents from the direct neighbourhood of ZSenne. The sauna is heated with a wood stove and will offer you an adventurous DIY sauna during one week every day from 17h till 21h.

After the daily session the sauna is open for everyone. A final presentation with sauna sessions will be at the finissage on Saturday 13th of August.
It is important to bring you own towel and a swimsuit as we cannot wash and cool down without clothes in public at this location. A cold shower is of course available.
Sauna club "Common sweat" is born out of frustration of going to welness centres with bad music and consumerist logics. With live ambient music in the relax area inside the gallery, “Common Sweat” will both function as a retreat for the alien body and as a brain abduction center. In other words, a place to relax.
